Egg nachos. An idea so simple, I can’t believe I’ve never made it, seen it, or even dreamt of it. Smarty Pants delivers a consistently respectable and predominantly savory brunch every weekend, loaded with trusted American staples like hash, biscuits and gravy, and Benedicts, but the Huevos Panteros is Tijuana heaven, combining a little night before with some morning after. Scrambled eggs, cheese, sour cream, and salsa over corn chips, it’s junk-Mex at its best, served with the city’s greatest hash browns. I get mine with a side of trouble—sauce, that is. Bonus: Los ninos are not allowed, better to enjoy the most important meal of the day: nachos.—Maggie Dutton 6017 Airport Way S., 762-4777, www.smartypantsseattle.com.
