The Seattle Weekly calls D’Vonne Lewis (drums), Evan Flory-Barnes (bass), Josh Rawlings (keyboards), and Ahamefule J. Oluo (trumpet) “effortlessly, constantly inventive.” They share the bill with a new project from the monster trumpeter Cuong Vu and New York-to-Seattle transplant Ted Poor, a drummer capable of both refinement and torrential power. This concert to be filmed as a continuation of the polished Icons Among Us: Jazz in the Present Tense documentary. (In cooperation with EMP and Argus Fund.)
