Dr. Hudson allegedly met the woman while trolling online for prostitutes. The State Department of Health has suspended the license of Dr. Leonard Hudson on charges that the 72-year-old University of Washington professor traded drugs for sex with a 22-year-old addicted to painkillers.Hudson allegedly met the woman through an online escort service. According to the Department of Health, he prescribed her over 500 pills of OxyContin and untold numbers of Xanax and Percocet on 30 occasions over the course of five months.Charging papers also claim Hudson sometimes paid for sex with cash, rather than prescriptions. The former head of UW medical school’s pulmonary and critical care division was first contacted by police in January after the woman’s parents found Rx scrips from Hudson written to their daughter. And on March 3, the woman was hospitalized after an OxyContin overdose.A call to Hudson’s UW office, where he’s worked for nearly 40 years, has not yet been returned. The criminal investigation against him, meanwhile, is still ongoing.
