Double-parkers, beware. In the past, Seattle has been notoriously bad at collecting fines from unpaid parking tickets — by some estimate, the city has left nearly $50 million on the table in the last decade. But it’s about to get a whole lot better. Because next year, the city plans on buying license-plate-recognition devices and high-tech tire immobilizers (read: fancy boots) to crack down on scofflaws who have at least four unpaid tickets. So don’t you say you haven’t been warned, guy-who-thinks-flashers-substitute-for-a-full-meter.
