Dividing a nation, one family at a time.President Obama’s State of the Union speech brought out some bad behavior from a normally objective Supreme Court judge. But Justice Samuel Alito’s disappointed shake of the head was nothing compared to the battle royale between a Prosser couple.A Benton County sheriff’s officer says that a 55-year-old man and his wife got into a fist fight on Wednesday night after watching President Obama’s speech. Police say that during the argument the man grabbed his wife by the throat and pushed her to the ground, only to have her kick him in the groin and run away to call for help. The husband was booked on fourth-degree assault. And neither he, nor his wife, told officers what started the fight. But it’s probably safe to say that, while Alito’s disapproval came about because of a highly complicated and controversial court ruling that gave corporations the same rights as people, the old man and his lady we’re brawling over something slightly less sophisticated. Like the public option, cap and trade or maybe just who unloaded the dishwasher last.
