Disgraced Republican Congressman Mark Foley’s decision to check himself into alcohol rehab after sending inappropriate messages to a 16-year-old male page is a classic homophobic cop-out. As Seattle Weekly’s sister paper in Fort Lauderdale has reported, Foley has been dodging gay rumors for quite some time. The fact that he’s IM’ing a young buck in hopes of scoring some illicit tail would seem to confirm said rumors, right? Well, no, it just confirms that Foley’s an alcoholic. Once he gets out of rehab, he should be straight as an arrow again. What a crock of shit.
