Congressman Dave Reichert was cutting firewood in March when a large branch snapped back and hit him in the head. Suffering through what he though was a wicked sinus infection, Reichert avoided the doctor’s office for two months, until a sudden numbness on his right side forced him to seek help. A CAT scan revealed a large pool of blood on his brain that required emergency surgery. Sources say it will also provide Reichert detractors the opportunity to make many tasteless jokes about “brain damage” prior to the November elections.
