And speaking of possibly significant injuries to local sports heroes, ESPN’s Adam “The Schef” Shefter reports that Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck has sustained another ouchie, this one in the form of a fractured rib suffered while diving for the end zone during first half of yesterday’s loss to the San Fransisco 49ers. Advances in medicine and the modern football player’s willingness to play through pain being what they are ( i.e. terrifying), Hasselbeck could conceivably return for next week’s contest against the Chicago Bears. And if his Twitter account is to be believed, he’ll be back in pads sooner than later. Otherwise, prepare for the Seneca Wallace show. Just remember sports fans, like celebrity deaths, injuries to invaluable members of your favorite sports clubs come in threes. One. Two. Three?
