Almost six years to the day when she was relieved of her

Almost six years to the day when she was relieved of her duties as Seattle Weekly’s managing editor, word on the street is that Bethany Jean Clement has been named to replace longtime managing editor Bradley Steinbacher as the Stranger’s second (or is it third?) in command, right underneath the former SW intern who now (kind of) runs the show up the Hill (recent MF Truth quote concerning the aforementioned intern: “The idea of Christopher Frizzelle primly seeking counsel from the Poynter Institute is roughly comparable to Borat soliciting guidance from the Anti-Defamation League.”) The promotion from food columnist to Stranger veep represents a long, slow climb back up the professional ladder for Ms. Clement, who once occupied the same role currently held by yours truly at Seattle Weekly, before being replaced by my predecessor, Chuck Taylor, in August 2002. So cheers to you, Burger Babe — the squid’s in the mail.
