On perhaps the hottest weekend of the summer, Seafair culminated in three days of airshows, hydroplane racing, and boat-parties. Seattlites took to the water and shores of Lake Washington to watch the events, and in many cases to escape the heat as well.

Dog-lovers young and old gathered to celebrate the often misunderstood pit bull breed. Held at Riverdog Canine Coaching in Issaquah, the event aimed to alleviate negative stigmas typically associated with pit bulls. See the full pit bull parade slideshow here.
The Seafair Pirates sailed through downtown Seattle along 4th Avenue surprisin’, delightin’, frightenin’, and entertainin’ the thousands o’ landlubbers that lined its shores durin’ the Seafair Torchlight Parade.
Everyone’s favorite Trinidadian-American Nicki Minaj hit the Paramount Theatre. Pink wigs and bubblegum pop reigned supreme.

Thousands descended upon Straddleline Raceway for the Dirty Dash, a three mile obstacle course covered in soil, mud and water. The race is held in various locations throughout the United States and a portion of the proceeds are often donated to local charity organizations.
