A New Legal Buzz HHC Carts: Benefits, Risks & More

Cannabis has numerous benefits and, no doubt, is here to stay. Scientists are discovering alternatives to widely known CBD and delta-9 THC. One of the newest kids on the cannabinoid block is HHC. It is quickly gaining recognition for its unique effects. This article explores the benefits, risks, legal safety, and other essential things about HHC. Let us dive in!

Will I Get High On HHC Carts?

Yes, you will get high after using HHC carts. HHC is a psychoactive compound that will produce a high. It is stronger than delta-8 but less potent than delta-9 THC. Therefore, it is an excellent option for cannabis users looking for something stronger than delta-8 but a bit weaker than delta 9.

Are HHC Carts Safe?

There is no research on the safety of HHC on human beings. However, there have not been any reports of death or toxicity from using HHC carts.

What Is HHC?

HHC is an abbreviation for Hexahydrocannabinol, a hydrogenated form of THC. It is one of the minor cannabinoids found in trace concentrations in hemp plants.

However, THC is subjected to the hydrogenation process to produce an industrial quantity of HHC. In this process, hydrogen atoms are added to THC, similar to producing margarine from vegetable oil. The method of hydrogenation replaces THC’s double bond with hydrogen atoms. However, the resulting cannabinoid HHC retains its potency and effects.

THC is easily affected by oxidation and degradation. Therefore, the hydrogenation of the THC molecular structure makes it more stable. As a result, HHC is not susceptible to UV light and heat.

Is HHC legal?

The legality of HHC is in the grey area. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized hemp plants and products containing less than 0.3% of THC.

Although HHC is a naturally occurring cannabinoid, commercially produced HHC are lab-produced from delta-9 THC. Therefore, HHC is a semi-synthetic cannabis compound, according to National Cannabis Industry Association. If this is the case, according to the DEA, it is a Schedule 1 drug and should be illegal.

Benefits of HHC Carts

Research on the benefits of HHC is limited. HHC and THC share molecular similarities and affinity for the endocannabinoid receptors. Therefore, there is a high chance that they have similar functions. However, it is vital to note that HHC is only about 80% as potent as THC.

Here are possible benefits of HHC carts:

Pain relief

HHC may prove useful in relieving acute pain and chronic pain. One study on mice suggests that HHC has excellent pain-blocking effects on the endocannabinoid system. HHC may quickly replace the need for THC in individuals who want to feel relief from pain without the “high.”

There is currently no cure for cancer; you can only try to stop the spread of cancerous cells. A study conducted on animals indicated that HHC might be useful in halting the proliferation of cancer cells. Another study indicated that HHC “strongly inhibited breast cancer cell-induced angiogenesis and tumor growth.”

Improves appetite

Research shows that HHC’s effect on the endocannabinoid receptor is similar to THC’s. Delta-9 THC is known for stimulating intense hunger. Therefore, HHC can also stimulate the appetite, but the effect is not as intense as THC.

Improves sleep

The endocannabinoid system is responsible for regulating sleep, mood, and other activities. Poor sleep quality can predispose an individual to mood disorders like depression and anxiety. Therefore, the importance of quality sleep is reflected in physical, psychological, mental, and emotional health. HHC carts can help individuals with insomnia sleep better.

THC is an excellent anti-inflammatory agent. Therefore individuals with inflammatory conditions like arthritis can benefit from HHC without struggling with the intense high that comes from delta 9 THC

Risks Associated With HHC Carts

There are not enough studies to objectively highlight the risks associated with HHC carts. However, the reported side effects are similar to THC. They include:

  • Insomnia

  • Dry mouth

  • Paranoia

  • Dizziness

  • Anxiety

  • Red eyes

  • Rapid heart rate

  • Increased appetite

Every new cannabinoid that pops has something new and exciting to offer. There is limited research on the benefits and risks of using HHC products. However, HHC is a hydrogenated form of THC. It induces similar effects to THC but at a lower potency.

Additionally, HHC legality is unclear. Although it is a naturally occurring cannabinoid, science has to be added to optimize production. There is no evidence to support if HHC will show up in a drug test. HHC is a new prospect that all cannabis enthusiasts are looking forward to exploring.
