You might recall that the Timber! Outdoor Music Festival drew a couple thousand folks out to the Tolt MacDonald Park near Carnation this past July for some strum and bang, successfully wedging its way into the crowded summer music festival market.

Emboldened by that success, the organizers at Artist Home Booking have taken up a second, perhaps even greater challenge by planning another two-day festival, this one staged in the live music dead zone that is mid-January. As announced earlier today, the fest will take place in the Bavarian-style village of Leavenworth on January 10 and 11. They’re calling it Timbrrr! (clever that) and promising that fest-goers can “choose their own winter adventure.”

That means that instead of the river floating and camping of Timber!, this newer fest will offer skiing, tubing and cozy mountain lodging. And, of course, there will be lots of music around town, culminating with an evening lineup at the Leavenworth Festhalle. Also, there will be a “Hot Toddy Garden.” And snowball fights with Seattle music royalty (I added that one).

The lineup is still a mystery, but will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, October 15.
