When we profiled Leon Hendrix (pictured), Jimi’s baby brother, at length this past March, Jimmy Williams, Jimi’s boyhood friend and head of the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation, had high hopes for Greg Groeper, a Chicago businessman who’d recently taken the reins as the foundation’s marketing and charitable gifts coordinator. Six months on, however, things have gone way sour, with Groeper accusing the foundation of breach of contract and threatening legal action, a Hendrix orbit tradition.
