What are you doing for Father’s Day? Well, I can’t believe I’m even telling you this as I haven’t yet bought tickets, but Sound on the Sound’s Abbey Simmons pointed me to the perfect activity to do with dad on June 17th– the Triple Door is hosting a tribute to the world’s greatest singing drummer, The Band’s Levon Helm, who passed away a few weeks ago after a decades-long battle with throat cancer. I’m still feeling the sting of his passing, but what better way to celebrate his decades-long career than by hearing his music? The concert features local musicians Ian Moore, Jeff Fielder, Lindsay Fuller, Jason Dodson, Zoe Muth, Jason Staczek, Eric Eagle, Michael Stegner, Andy Stoller, Garth Reeves, and our own Duff McKagan, and benefits Gilda’s Club Seattle, an organization that supports cancer survivors and their loved ones.
