Watch a slideshow of Bumbershoot Beards. Alan Fitzthum and his beard.Quick conversation I had with these three guys. (Almost verbatim.)ME: Can I take a picture of you with your beard?Jules McEvoy (pictured below): Why don’t you take a picture of him without the beard?ME: How long have you been growing it?Alan Fitzthum: I haven’t shaved since 1969. ME: Trimmed?Fitzthum: A little on the sides. As it happens, all three of these characters are jugglers. Alan’s partner is the father of Amiel Martin-Abadi (below). Amiel and Jules are members of the Juggling Jollies, the guys you’ll see around the festival grounds throwing swords around. Amiel’s old man’s got a beard that’s on par with Fitzthum’s. “I’ve never seen my dad’s chin.”Jules McEvoyAmiel Martin-AbadiThe troupe in action.
