Tyler KohihoffPortland indie-pop trio Nurses released its sophomore album, Dracula, a little over two weeks ago, and it’s gotten more and more impressive with each listen. Like a lot of Portland bands, the group has earned a reputation for producing “difficult” or “experimental” pop music, but the new album leaves those tags behind in favor of catchy, concise songcraft. I managed to catch the group’s closing set at Portland’s PDX Pop Now! festival this past summer, and it was easily the highlight of the entire event, so marking your calendar for its Oct. 28 show at the Sunset Tavern is highly recommended.
