Two years after being unceremoniously fired as the morning-show host at 103.7 the Mountain, Marty Riemer will return to the station as host of the afternoon show.”The rumors are true,” Riemer said in an e-mail. “I can tell you that I’m starting back on the air on Monday, January 24th–doing afternoons–which (a) allows me to sleep until noon; and (b) continue with the podcast which I have grown extremely fond of doing.”Riemer amassed a loyal following during his 12-year tenure with the station the first time around. When he was fired, he and co-host Jodi Brothers started the Marty Riemer Show Podcast. Riemer says that the conditions of his deal with the Mountain allow him to continue the podcast and work afternoons at the station. It’s not clear whether Brothers will be returning to the Mountain with Riemer, but the station plans to announce the details of their new schedule on Monday morning.Riemer’s return to the Mountain is the latest in a string of major commercial-radio moves in the last two months that have included KWJZ switching from smooth jazz to modern rock, KJR switching to oldies, and Bob Rivers joining KJR.Follow Reverb on Facebook.
