This weekend, the exhibit “Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses” opened at the EMP with about 225 artifacts including posters, photos and more – such as Kurt Cobain’s historically misspelled MTV Moonman. On Friday night, music luminaries including Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic (who also picks up a pen for Seattle Weekly, here and there) and Soundgarden’s Kim Thayil gathered to celebrate the opening of the exhibit and talk about the sound that changed music forever.Photos by Sy Bean.Published on April 18, 2011
