The winter sun is out and doing its best to shine today in Seattle, but some of us are less appreciative of the good weather than others. Today Beach House released a new holiday song entitled “I Do Not Care For the Winter Sun.” On the duo’s Tumblr, they wrote: We recorded this a few days ago in our practice space: its a winter/holiday song, its a gift to the internet, thank you for the lovely, intense year!”I Do Not Care For the Winter Sun,” which features some a plaintive guitar and some festive jingle bells shaking along in the background, is quiet and slowly simmering, restrained and lovely… in other words, very Beach House-y, the same qualities that made Beach House’s Teen Dream many a critic’s and a fan’s favorite album of 2010.In the generous spirit of the season, you can download “I Do Not Care For the Winter Sun” for a free. Beach House is currently preparing for an early 2011 tour of Australia and New Zealand.
