The music video for “Flash Delirium,” the first single off MGMT’s forthcoming Congratulations, is here, and yeah, it’s really fucking weird. The Andreas Nilsson-directed clip (he’s done videos for The Knife, Jose Gonzalez, and Peter, Bjorn, and John) features French poodles, old people, and super-creepy puppets – and that’s just the first half. It gets pretty nasty towards the end. I don’t want to give it away, but an eel-like creature does get yanked out of a slit in Ben Goldwasser’s throat. I guess we shouldn’t be expecting anything less than bizarre from these guys anyway.Watch the video here on MGMT’s website, where you can also stream Congratulations in its entirety. MGMT will be playing a much-anticipated set at Sasquatch! this year – hope you got your tickets already.
