The internationally acclaimed Turkish pianist Fahir Atakoglu will be at Jazz Alley on Tuesday and Wednesday night, playing in support of his latest record, Faces and Places. (He’ll be joined by bassist Anthony Jackson and drummer Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez). Our own editor-in-chief Mark Fefer says that Atakoglu “can play his ass off, too, recalling Chick Corea, Dave Brubeck, and the dude from The Bad Plus.”Want to check out the show for free? We’re giving away a few pairs of tickets to tomorrow’s night opening show at 7:30 p.m. To win, email me your name and phone number at ethompson@seattleweekly.com by 5 p.m. tonight, and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win the tickets. We have several pairs, so your chances aren’t bad…. good luck!
