The inaugural Substrata Festival happens in Seattle this weekend (and I’m in Chicago for the Pitchfork Festival), but if you’re not doing either of those, you should consider making the road trip up to Anacortes for their annual What the Heck? Fest. Full passes are sold out as of today, but passes for individual shows appear to still be available–and, as every year, there are some pretty sick-looking shows to see, including the reliably awesome/awed Mount Eerie, the premiere Clyde Peterson of Your Heart Breaks’ show Boating with Clyde, Brooklyn black metallers Liturgy, and tons of others. Plus: dinners, films, zines, dance parties, and other wholesomeness. Heck!Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
