SW’s own Rocket Queen is co-hosting a killer party tomorrow night at the Rendezvous in conjunction with Algerbay Records founder and The Keeper frontman Andrew Chapman and Seattle Rock Guy. Your Village Sucks! Fest will feature 10 local hardcore bands on two stages for one night only:The lineup is a stellar one; carefully crafted by all three sponsors with a firm finger on the pulse of Seattle’s current metal and punk landscape. Though the lineup was assembled by three self-proclaimed metal heads, Your Village Sucks! Fest really has a little something for everyone, including a couple left field additions from our closest Canadian neighbors. Whether it be the metallic sludge riffs of Mico De Noche, the brazen disco rock of Vancouver B.C.’s Sex With Strangers or the amusing shtick of punk rockers Warning:Danger!, expect a beyond kick ass evening of debauchery and killer live music. The evening’s full lineup is: Vultures2012, Throne of Bone, Sex with Strangers, Warning:Danger!, Mico De Noche, Madraso, Guilty About Girls, The Cold Cold Ground, and Ashes of Empires (Mobile Slaughter Unit had to cancel; they’re sick!) While you’re there, you’ll also have the opportunity to pick up Algerbay’s second music compilation, Your Village Sucks! Too, for free. And at 11:30, bands and audience will gather in the Jewelbox for a karaoke singalong of Dio’s “Rainbow in the Dark.” The song will be filmed and sent to Ronnie James Dio, who’s currently battling stomach cancer, as a video get-well card. The show starts at 9pm – buy advance tickets today and it’s $10; otherwise, pay $12 at the door tomorrow night.
