StrawberrylunaNo, the lineup hasn’t been announced, and the festival’s largest stage is being put to rest, but for $75 — roughly the price of a single-day ticket to Sasquatch! — it’s impossible to consider Bumbershoot to be anything other than a bargain. Taking in a one-person play is worth a day’s entry, and catching a set of short films in the One Reel Film Festival is worth another. As Bumbershoot re-fashions itself as a smaller festival that no longer aims for high-priced, household names as headliners, it is the perfect opportunity to take a second look at some of the smaller-stage attractions that — when taken as a whole — are what make the festival great. Flatstock — the annual exhibition of poster art — is affordable, impressive, and a bigger part of the festival than Fergie will ever be.The $75, three-day passes are only available for a limited time, and you must sign up for the Bumbershoot fan club first, which is free. If you wait until the day of the show, tickets are $45 at the gate. Yeah, it’s a good thing to take care of today.
