specswizard.bandcamp.comReleased back in 2006 on Sun City Girls’ Abduction imprint, OSN catches the Wizard, Specsone, at the top of his game. Under the beat-handle S. Future and rhyme-pseudonym Mic Mulligan, Specs delivered his signature breezy raps over some of his most accesible lo-fi, spaced-out arrangements. It’s dynamite from the beginning, as some old-timey alien effects creep into Horace Silver/Kenny Dorham’s clean trumpet riff, and the tone is set. Just this morning, Specs did us all a solid and uploaded the album to his Bandcamp page where you can stream it (and where you should check out his other fantastic releases), and pick it up for an exceptionally reasonable $8.
