Seattle-based, 20-year-old SOL, who performed this summer at Capitol Hill Block Party, just granted us a sneak peek of his new EP, Dear Friends, which will be released tomorrow on his website, solsays.com. I got a chance to catch up with SOL at the NY Fashion Academy after GMK’s set at REVERB, and learned he’s soon off to Brazil; I really look forward to how the extensive trip will shape his music upon his return. You can catch him performing at the Nectar Lounge on the 21st of this month before his departure; in the meantime, check out the song “Don’t Sleep” below, a declarative “on my grind” track with sunny production and commendable flows.
