R Place

Three stories of fun in a lovely vintage Capitol Hill building, R Place welcomes gays, straights, and everyone in between. There’s dancing (on the vast third floor, which includes a full bar), pool and video games (the second floor, ditto), and a well-stocked street-level bar with friendly staff and a choice of thousands of music videos for the wide-screen TVs. Highlights of the weekly calendar include happy hour (from 4 to 7 during the week, 2 to 7 on Saturday and Sunday); karaoke (Tuesday); an amateur strip show (Thursday); and DJs Queen Lucky (Friday), Riz (Saturday), and Dana Dub (classic disco, Sunday). Charmingly, deceptively quiet on the outside, this 20-year-old neighborhood institution is anything but that once you walk through the door. 619 E. Pine St., 206-322-8828, www.rplaceseattle.com.
