Portland’s Horse Feathers just played a show at the Tractor a couple weeks ago, and now the folk-rock outfit have released an adorable music video for “Belly of June,” a track off their most recent record on Kill Rock Stars, Thistled Spring. “Belly of June” is an elegant song – I love the the sweeping cello and the plunking banjo playing off each other. The video features lead singer Justin Ringle and co. playing their instruments and squaring off at chess, while a stop-motion bee couple reads a tiny book and organizes their pantry. There are also some bright shots of daffodils and a blue sky that offer a harbinger of the spring that’s (hopefully) almost upon us.
