The Intelligence, the primary creative endeavor of co-promoters Lars Finberg and Susanna Wellbourne, is heading out on an epic European tour for the rest of April, May, and part of June. They’ve chosen to assign a nautical theme for the evening. I just got off the phone with Finberg, who was already down at the venue, decorating with Wellbourne and sound-checking with house band Puberty (who will be debuting new material tonight).”It’s purely based on that’s the outfits we wanted to wear. I have this admiral jacket i’ve been wanting to wear. We were going to do a tikki theme, but the weather’s been so weird, I didn’t want to risk people having to wear shorts.”DJ Porq will be on hand as usual, and they’ll have a guest MC tonight, one fetching gal named “Ade”, best known for her stints hosting karoke nights at the Bus Stop on Capitol Hill. Trainwreck takes place at the Orient Express in SoDo (2963 Fourth Ave. S., 682-0683). Doors are at 10, cover is $6.
