photo by Brian MarrHardly Art announced today that the much-hyped reunion of Carissa’s Wierd is now slated for July 9 at Showbox at the Market. It’s the slowcore band’s first show since their 2003 break-up and their only show this summer (and possibly ever again). Tickets go on sale May 8 at 10 a.m.Most members of the original (albeit rotating) line-up will play the show: Mat Brooke, Jenn Ghetto, Sarah Standard, Robin Peringer, and Sera Cahoone are all signed on. It’s worth noting that Ben Bridwell, who played in Carissa’s Wierd and went on to form Band of Horses with his CW bandmates, isn’t part of the reunion. Hardly Art releases They’ll Only Miss You When You Leave: Songs 1996-2003, a Carissa’s Wierd retrospective album, on July 13.
