People always talk about how everything in Seattle is dying or disappearing, which is why I get excited to discover local bands that are new on the scene—bands that aren’t about to break up or move to Los Angeles. C.J. Frederick, a local booker who goes by DASWASUPGIG, is great at putting together shows that spotlight all that new blood that might otherwise go unnoticed. At the beginning of 2015, DASWASUPGIG added the carnival-themed basement of Capitol Hill’s Unicorn bar, known as The Narwhal, into his list of venues, and last Tuesday he spotlighted a very rad new band in his punk show series.
