On Sunday night, tUnE-yArDs (Merrill Garbus) shook the U-District’s relatively new Neptune Theater with her deep and thundering drum and vocal loops, created on the spot in front of the audience. Joined on stage by bassist Nate Brenner and two saxophonists, the quartet unleash a plethora of sounds ranging from gutteral and booming, to soft and intimate. Openers were Malaikat dan Singa and Pat Jordache.Photos by Victoria HoltPublished on November 21, 2011
