Old Redmond Firehouse

Some say youth is wasted on the young, but they haven’t been to the Old Redmond Firehouse. The longest-running all-ages venue in the Pacific Northwest, ORF operates four days a week (Wednesday through Saturday), giving kids on the Eastside a place to create, partake, and commiserate. Stop by some afternoon and you’re likely to catch kids skating the outdoor ramp or adorning the walls with their artwork, and on Wednesday nights through September, you can catch the quieter crowd enjoying acoustic sets. But on Friday nights, hardcore chicks, their skate-rat brothers, and a smattering of peppy power-poppers gather to do what kids do best: rock. 16510 N.E. 79th St., Redmond, 425-556-2370.
