Of all the cast members on the addictive train-wreck-of-a-show Jersey Shore, Pauly D–real name Paul DelVecchio–is arguably the most sane. Admittedly, he spends an obscene amount of time applying hair gel, lifting weights, and tanning. But he also does an admirable job avoiding the drama–getting kicked out of the club, getting arrested, etc.–that his often belligerently drunk housemates get into, opting to take to the sideline and provide insightful observations like, “I’ve never seen the kitchen this bad. There’s hair extensions, there’s finger nails, there’s like a tuna fish sandwich on the ground. It’s like World War III went down last night. It’s crazy! So, compared to the rest of Jersey Shore’s persistently popular “stars,” Pauly D is the most appropriate choice to host a high school party … right? Movin’ 92.5 seems to think so. The radio station is offering a Seattle area high school the chance to win a “VIP party with DJ Pauly D.” You can check out the complete contest rules here. What can one expect from a set spun by Pauly D? For sure plenty of beating up the beat and fist-pumping. More specifically, as he once explained, “We’re beatin up-the-beat, that’s what we say when we’re doing our fist-pump. First, we start off by banging the ground, we’re banging it as the beat builds ’cause that beat’s hittin’ us so we’re fightin’ back, it’s like we beat up that beat.” Alrighty then.
