Next Wednesday night, indie rock outfit Ra Ra Riot are coming to Seattle fresh off of a world tour of sorts. The last few places they’ll be playing before Seattle are London, Paris, British Columbia, and Portland so hopefully they’ll have plenty of momentum on their side when they roll into town. The fast ascending indie-rock band out of Syracuse makes music that sounds like a mixture of ’80s New York art-rock and airy, violin-drenched, funeral ballads. They’re now signed to our own Barsuk Records, and their show at Neumos on February 25 is probably close to sold out already. They’re playing with New Zealand’s Cut Off Your Hands and Seattle’s Telekinesis, doors are at 8 pm, and tickets are $12.50 in advance, slightly higher at the door. But if you want two free tickets to see them live, Reverb has got you covered. Just shoot me an email at jcunningham@seattleweekly.com with the words Ra Ra Riot in the subject line, and a winner will be selected at random. This is an all ages show. Good luck. UPDATE: This contest is now closed. Thanks to all that participated.
