Myself and many Capitol Hill residents I know were in a cave the past few days, so it’s startling to catch up on the weekend’s news and the story of a fatal shooting at the Baltic on Friday night. It’s pretty cryptic about why or by whom the man was shot, and made about 100x sadder because his girlfriend is due to give birth in September, a day after his 26th birthday. Christ. DJ Collage’s Monday night reggae party, Jam Jam, is cancelled tonight for a “moment of peace,” reports promoters Oi Vay!, but the club will reopen on Tuesday. This winter has seen such an unusual amount of violence on the Hill… be safe, everybody. Also: As Brian Miller reported Friday on the Daily Weekly, The Times reports that someone has confessed to the New Years Eve stabbing of Shannon Harps.
