Os Mutantes: Conceived in the midst of Tropicalia, a Dada-esque Brazilian cultural movement that took root in the ’60s, Os Mutantes remain kaleidoscopic. The group—part psychedelic, part prog, part protest music—has influenced worldly musicians from David Byrne to Beck, whose 1998 album Mutations is a tribute to the band.
