MetricCoconut Coolouts, Partman Parthorse, Mean Jeans, Cowabunga Dudes at the Funhouse, 9:30 p.m., $6We here in Seattle are fortunate that Coconut Coolouts (a super fun, throwback sort of punk band that contains Dutchess and the Duke member Ruben Mendez) and Partman Parthorse (creepy art rock that’s fun to gyrate to) live here and put on shows all the time, but tonight’s show is special because they are playing with likeminded Portland party punk band Mean Jeans, who just put out their debut LP on Dirtnap Records, a Portland label that was once home to the Girls and the Exploding Hearts, an amazing band that met with a tragic end. Expect drunken shenanigans and songs about jail and pogoing. Also, the Cowabunga Dudes are pretty good — same sort of shout/spoken punk rock — but I don’t know the geographic location of the band. You’ll have to go to the show to find out.Deck the Hall Ball at WaMu Theater, 4:30 p.m., $49.50, all ages, but sold outThis year’s line-up is actually decent — of particular interest is Canadian synthpop band Metric — which explains why the show sold out weeks ago.
