Last night Seattle-area teens streamed straight from school to KeyArena for the annual midweek holiday celebration that has been bringing the cutting edge of radio rock to the city for the last 21 years.

This edition was no exception, featuring one of the most talked about artists of the moment, Lorde, in addition to old favorites Arctic Monkeys, ascendent artists including Chvrches and Alt-J, and local favorites The Head and the Heart, for whom this served as a sort of release show for Let’s Be Still, the band’s second album on Sub Pop, released last month. For those who maintained the holiday cheer for the concerts full six-plu hours, the two heavy hitters Phoenix and Vampire Weekend both served up powerful sets that sent the teens and adults in the audience swooning into the holiday season.
