Kings of Leon play KeyArena with Band of Horses on Monday, Sept. 12.No, that joke’s never going to get old. But, in all seriousness, by Sept. 12 everyone should be recovered from Bumbershoot. And this should be a great Arena rock set to close out what’s shaping up to be a very solid summer concert season. Now if Pearl Jam would go ahead and sneak in a 206 show after their tour of Canada, that’d be just swell. If memory serves me right, the last time KOL played KeyArena was in 2006, opening for Bob Dylan. They’d also been warming up U2’s shows around this same time. Much was written–including by us–that the band made no secret of the fact that they wanted to make records that could bring them back to those big rooms and arenas on their own. That they did it with uncompromising tracks like “Black Thumbnail” and “Mary” is a bitter pill for haters to swallow.Tickets are $35, $45, and $65, and go on sale Saturday via Ticketmaster.Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
