Jade HarrisPortland’s Blitzen Trapper will release their fifth full-length, Destroyer of the Void, on June 8 on Sub Pop. Right now you can download the record’s first single, “Heaven and Earth,” on Sub Pop’s website – and I really urge you to do so. It’s a beautifully clear and focused piano ballad type of song, featuring Efterklang siblings Peter and Heather Woods Broderick on strings and lead singer Eric Earley singing lyrics like, “There is a love that sleeps inside the canyons of our deepest dreaming lives.” It’s fairly dripping with romance, and I’m into that.Click here to download “Heaven and Earth,” and check out Destroyer of the Void’s full track listing after the jump, as well as Blitzen Trapper’s upcoming tour dates, which, puzzlingly, do not include Seattle.
