Infinite Loop, Hyper PalaceOut now, self-releasedinfinitel88p.bandcamp.comInfinite Loop (stylized Infinite L∞p) is a youthful production duo that melds vocoder-laden electro-pop and hip-hop-leaning instrumentals. Hyper Palace, one of two full-length albums streaming on the group’s Bandcamp, is undoubtedly enthusiastic, with a well-developed sense of irony (read: unabashedly goofy samples on every other song). That development doesn’t always carry over to the music, however; the group tends to latch onto an idea at the beginning of a song and then proceeds to drive it into the ground. It’s a fun, if occasionally grating, listen that recalls the music of another young Seattle band, Sound Off! participants The Unibroz, whose combination of hip-hop and electronica is well-intentioned but similarly sophomoric.
