In my 2007 year-end column, I lamented the lack of exposure female MCs and hip-hop artists had been receiving in all the fuss over the 206’s burgeoning scene. Slowly but surely, that has been changing, and the two women that make up Thee Satisfaction are a promising example of this positive evolution. Sharp, wry and jazzily upbeat, Thee Stasia and Cat Satisfaction are playing a slew of great shows coming up, including one this Saturday at Hugo House and a little later this month (June 17th) at Nectar with Fresh Espresso. Almost any artist that cites Dave Chappelle, Isis, and A Tribe Called Quest as influences would get a thumbs up from me, but you should pop over to their MySpace page and judge for yourself.
