I’m sort of mystified as to why See Me River opted for a Sunday night record release party (they’ll be at the Comet tonight). I like going out on Sunday nights myself, simply because shows are less crowded and the chances increase of catching an under-the-radar band on it’s way up. However, record release parties are usually the sort of thing a band wants a ton of friends and family to show up for, and that’s a task significantly more challenging on a rainy Sunday evening. Still, I hope Kerry Zettel and company get the audience they deserve; Time Machine is a darkly gorgeous Americana record that is probably going to be high on many a top 10 list by year’s end (listen to it over here). Plus, I can’t think of any band with a better logo right now (albeit one that is wildly incongruous with the band’s gothic twangs):
