If a cover of Dio’s “Holy Diver” isn’t enough Damien Jurado for one day, Secretly Canadian has also made a new song from the upcoming Saint Bartlett available for free download. “Cloudy Shoes” is the opening song on Saint Bartlett, and it’s exactly the kind of song you could picture Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground performing live with Jurado. And if that’s not impressive enough, there’s a great story behind the sound: Jurado wrote the layered, multi-instrumental track in only six minutes, while producer Richard Swift took a phone call outside the studio.
