I heart C89.5 FM. Even after all these years, I still cannot believe that it’s run almost entirely by the kids at Nathan Hale High School. Had my friends and I had such responsibility at 17, the results would have been disastrous. But these guys do an awesome job. Such an awesome job in fact, that they’ve managed to score LADY GAGA to headline their first ever listener appreciation party.I practically peed my pants when I found out. Lady Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) is the shit. Her hit “Just Dance” has infiltrated radio stations all summer and the rest of her debut album is stuffed with awesome electronica/ pop gems. And she’s not just the latest floozy to get lucky with a record deal. Lady Gaga was granted admission to the Tisch School of Arts at NYU to study music when she was 17. By the time she was 20, she was hired as a songwriter for Interscope Records and now, at 22, she’s becoming a pop queen in her own right. People first got a glimpse of her (and her butt cheeks) at last year’s Lollapalooza. This type of behavior doesn’t exactly scream “indie cred,” but sometimes, I really just want to flail around to digitalized dance music sung by a girl in a crazy outfit. There. I said it. The details on Lady Gaga’s appearance pretty hush-hush, but you can score tickets here.
