I don’t know what I did to this picture. It was a total accident. But I think the result is wildly appropriate.Hold the Steely Dan jokes for just a second. I wasn’t around in the ’70s to watch them sleepwalk through their sets, or whatever it was that they did to make their shows such a punchline. The band–the LIVE band–has been dynamite for well over a decade. And their performance of The Royal Scam at the Paramount during their “Rent Party” in 2009 was easily one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Yes, I know this all sounds like hyperbarrhea, but it’s a fact. Donald Fagen and Walter Becker are their bringing (mostly) the same Late Night-caliber band back with them when they play WaMu on July 2. But, don’t worry about the money.
