A rose by any other name would still smell aswell, as much like an ashtray and some cheap beer, quite frankly. But still, we’re not entirely sure why the Hideawaythe new club that inhabits the space formerly known as Sit & Spin (only sans the washers, dryers, and pizza oven)was named as if it were a Prohibition-era sanctuary for thugs. But hey, we’re happy to support a rock club run by and for local underground music fiends and the garage punk/art rock noise that they know and love. The Hideaway hasn’t been open for long and some of the kinks are still a little well, kinky, but we have faith that they’re going to pull through. Still, if you’re really on the lam, we suggest you go elsewhere and save the Hideaway for a good old-fashioned party. 2219 Fourth Ave., booking@thehideawayseattle.com. (Those kinks include one regarding a phone number.)
