For those who care about what “very important” music critics thought about the best albums and singles of 2008, here’s one more definitive list on the year that was. I’m only kidding about that “very important” line by the way.But for numerous years, the folks at Village Voice, have done a good job of polling the countries top music writers (at the national and local level) and then probing them for their annual top ten. Unfortunately, I’m not surprised at the results once again. TV On The Radio took best album (give me a break!) for their overly-lauded Dear Science. I personally think it was a good album but best of the year? I don’t think so. M.I.A. (who gets hotter the more pregnant she becomes) naturally racked up the most votes in the single of the year category for “Paper Planes.” I didn’t vote for either of these selections and if you want to check my ballot out, go here to see how I voted. As for how Seattle bands faired and for all of the results in general, go here. Let the arguing begin.
