File this under “Album Ideas That Make Perfect Sense”: Kill Rock Stars announced today that labelmates Thao Nguyen and Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn–both are better known by their respective first names only–will record an album together in spring 2011. This new project is the outgrowth of what KRS calls a “fast friendship,” since the two lady guitarists toured together this summer and videos of their lovely performances have been popping up across the interwebs. This one of “How Dare You,” from Yours Truly, shows how perfectly the musicians can play off each other’s voices and styles. They’re taking a very collaborative approach to the record, too: Thao and Mirah will share producing credits. Plus, the album will be recorded in San Francisco (Thao’s hometown) but released on KRS, which is now located in Portland (Mirah’s current residence). And the album will feature totally new material, written specifically for their new project.
